Client Poaching

Sorry to vent; but just had a client poached from me. The client was upset because I had to explain there was a cap on their recovery as the at fault party is protected by sovereign immunity. Client has fired me; folks don’t shoot the messenger. Would you rather have a lawyer that is honest with you from the beginning or one that misleads you and then drops the bad news on you at the end The client has hired a firm whose senior partner was suspended in the past for lying under oath. I don’t know what they told my client, but I can certainly guess. I wish them well, but I don’t think they’ll be happy in the end.
